When thinking about how to explain what CrossFit® is, we like to start with what CrossFit is not:

CrossFit is Elite Fitness for Everyone. Our classes and private coaching are based on the CrossFit program originally developed by legendary coach Greg Glassman after his many years of watching, working with, and coaching all types of people – from those simply interested in general fitness to elite athletes.
CrossFit workouts are comprised of constantly varied functional movements (like pushing, pulling, squatting, lifting, running) executed at high intensity. At SunDog CrossFit, you will not find any machines – instead, you will find kettlebells, barbells, medicine balls, sleds, and tons of open space for running, jumping, lifting, and throwing. The workouts themselves are completely scalable, which means a new participant and a CrossFit veteran can complete the same workout side by side with changes in load and intensity. CrossFit workouts will deliver exceptional fitness in and of themselves or as a complement to your sport-specific training regime.
Still Asking What Does This ALL MEAN?
'CONSTANTLY VARIED': Every day brings a different workout (WOD) incorporating a variety of elements and to work on different muscle groups and/or cardiovascular strength.
'FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT': Maintaining the safest, most efficient position to power through a movement. The movements we do in CrossFit mirror activities you do every day in your life. Our promise is to instruct you and help you maintain correct position in a workout - both to keep you safe and maximize efficiency.
'HIGH INTENSITY': This is a hard one for most people to grasp. Many in the athletic old school world relate a workout's efficiency to spending HOURS in the gym. You will never hear a CrossFitter say, 'WOW- that was a fantastic workout; I was in the gym for 5 hours!' You will hear, 'I killed that workout- finished in 8 minutes!'
Our fitness programming is designed to improve your capacity in ten recognized fitness domains: cardio-respiratory endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy.
The result is training to move better, feel better, live better -- FOR LIFE!

The beauty of our sport is we are all in it together, motivating one another. It’s a sport where the person last to finish the workout receives more high fives than the person first to finish. TOGETHER WE EARN RESULTS!
Then CrossFit is for YOU. Our classes take place at our beautiful new location at the intersection of Lathrop and Van Horn, adjacent to Go Wild Juicery and right down from Gymnastics Inc. Every workout is different, and since you will rarely do the same thing twice, you are less likely to lose interest or get bored than if you were doing the same circuits at the gym three days a week. Our classes are one hour long so they can fit into even the busiest schedules. Perhaps most importantly, since we opened our doors in August 2012 as Elite Urban Fitness, our athletes have seen dramatic changes in their speed, strength, performance, and body composition. In 2014 we became a CrossFit affiliate and now have even more resources to take our athletes to the next level.

We offer small group classes led by CF LV1 and CF LV2 trainers who will motivate you to perform at your best. Each class is designed to challenge you physically and mentally. We strive to bring elite fitness to all individuals, regardless of their current fitness level. Beware, we are not a globo-gym! We have no ellipticals, stationary weights, no mirrors, no judging and no excuses!!! Just an effective workout designed daily to suit each individual's needs. It's not easy. You will leave each session feeling exhilarated and exhausted at the same time.
